WHAT I DO
I am a designer in Southern Vermont. I believe in creativity and collaboration. I create work for myself, stay up late working on projects for clients and I constantly scour the internet for inspiration. I believe that the best outcome for a project comes from good planning and proper execution. In the end, I strive to produce work that is stimulating and fresh with results that all parties involved can be proud of.
HOW IT'S DONE
There are lots of ways to execute different ideas. Images don't always come from Adobe Illustrator (although it's a great tool and lots of images in my portfolio where finished with it), sometimes they come from a good printmaking session, or sometimes it takes a Sharpie and a #2 pencil: it all depends on the project and the desired result. I have lots of experience with scanning, photographing, color correction, and image retouching to back up a fair amount of design application. I've also worked with offset printing daily for the past 3 years, as well as large format inkjet printers. Regardless of the skills needed to get the job done, it's all about knowing the project, being immersed in the ideas and producing the best result.
SKATEBOARD GRAPHICS
In Southern Vermont, believe it or not, there's a thriving community of skateboarders, snowboarders, and all around active people. Maybe it's the mountains, or maybe it's something in the water, I don't know, but it's a great place to be a creative professional. In 2009 a friend and I started kicking around image ideas for a skate company. Vermont Skateboards was born shortly thereafter and I've been doing artwork for the boards ever since. The action sports youth market requires hours of trend research; designs must be relevant and constantly evolving.
THE UNKNOWN
